When You're Down To Nothing, God Is Up To Something."

  Moses:
This is almost overwhelming when you think about it. You MUST read to the end
Moses and the people were in the desert, but what was he going to do with
them
They had to be fed, and feeding 2 or 3 million people requires a lot of food.
According to the Quartermaster General in the Army, it is reported that Moses would have to have had
1500 tons of food each day. Do you know that to bring that much food each day, two freight trains, each at least a mile long, would be required!
Bes
ides you must remember, they were out in the desert, so they would have to have firewood to use in
cooking the food. This would take 4000 tons of wood and a few more freight trains, each a mile long,
just for one day. And just think, they were forty years
in transit.
And Oh yes! They would have to have water. If they only had enough to drink
and wash a few dishes, it would take 11,000,000 gallons each day and a freight train with tank cars, 1800 miles long just to bring water.
And then another thing! Th
ey had to get across the ! Red Sea at night. Now, if they went on a narrow
path, double file, the line would be 800 miles long and would require 35 days and nights to get through.
So there had to be a space in the Red Sea , 3 miles wide so that they could
walk 5000 abreast to get over
in one night.
But then, there is another problem...............each time they camped at the end of the day, a
campground two
-
thirds the size of the state of Rhode Island was required, or a total of 750 square miles
long......
.. think of it! This much space for camping.
Do you think Moses figured all this out before he left Egypt I think not!
You see, Moses believed in God. God took care of these things for him.
Now do you think God has any problem taking care of all our n
eeds

The End Times

Donald Karnes: The End Times

By Evelyn Willbur Goehres on Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at 11:41am

Subject: Donald Karnes--The End Times

I liked history when in school, and teachers' college. Now it serves well to
have some knowledge of history. I see things in the Bible confirmed by
history.  Events now happening through out the world and the Middle East point to the
fulfillment of Scriptures.  Zechariah 14 tells of all nations gathered
against Jerusalem. That condition exists right now. It's a powder-keg just
waiting for the match to set off the explosion of the entire Middle East.

Yet we know what Paul wrote: in 2 Timothy 3. He mentions 8 verses to
describe marks that will be seen during the perilous times. I am led to
believe that the Beast that had the deadly wound which was later healed is
Muslin fundamentalism as they fit into the Bible picture. They were very
strong back in the 10th and 11th centuries. They nearly conquered all Europe
at that time. They came across North Africa, killing off the entire Roman
civilization. If people didn't become Mohammedans they'd cut their throats.
A 'pincher movement'.

One army went up through Spain and the other army crossed Turkey killing off
all the Christians.  Remember the 7 churches of Asia Minor were in what is
now called Turkey. They continued in Bulgaria and were beaten back at the
walls of Vienna. All Europe stirred and arose as one man to save their lives
and their Christian faith. It was a life and death struggle. No quarters
were asked and no prisoners were taken! The Europeans fought these
"invaders" to a stand still!

These Mohammedans fought on to the very end. They were badly beaten. They
received a stunning defeat! They were routed, a terrible debacle. So wounded
that many thought it was a fatal wound, that they would never rise again! It
took them years to recover. They remained in a dormant condition almost 1000
years.

Now the deadly wound is healed. They are awakened and want their former
power and prestige back.  They once ruled from Spain to India and all North
Africa. They tried to take over Black Africa, but they couldn't conquer
"malaria of the rain-forest" of Africa. Their goal now is to destroy Israel
and then the USA. The bombing of New York Trade Center is just one sentence
out of their book to regain their former greatness and from there "go on to
dominate the entire world."

We believe God is just working out His Eternal Plan and no man can stay His
Hand. He is fulfilling the Scriptures. The "healing of the deadly wound" of
the beast, that is, they'll return to their former power and prestige, and
also to the Koran, as some of the Arabic nations have deviated from the
Koran. They once ruled such a vast domain, much of the known world back
there, 500 years before Columbus.

Now chafing and frustrated by their defeat and stagnation of past centuries.
They have lost their grip both civil and spiritual over countries where
once they ruled. Muslims are on the move everywhere to "recapture and return
to their former glory" and above all to the Koran, for they are all wanting
to die for their God.  The first thing on their agenda is the destruction of
Israel!  As that little country of 2.5 million Israelites surrounded by vast
areas and at least a 100 Arabs for every Jew. Little Israel is like a tiny
spot on the map. Every Arab nation has sworn to drive the Jews into the sea.
All points to the fulfillment.
A great time of suffering. Only those whose names are written in the Book
will be saved and their residue will not be cut off.

But when these nations are gathering to destroy Israel, the Lord's feet
shall touch down on the Mt. of Olives and He will go forth to fight for them
as in the day of battle.  Romans 11:25-26. When the fullness of the Gentiles
comes in, then all Israel will be saved. I don't understand how all this
will happen, but I believe the Bible, and all shall come to pass as it is
written. Jesus in Luke 21:36. "Watch and pray that ye might be accounted
worthy to escape all these things when it shall come to pass and to stand
before the Son of Man".  Jesus said, "Heaven and earth shall pass away but
my Word shall never pass away." His promises are surer than His natural
laws!

There are certain things that money can't buy. Money can buy a house but
cannot buy a home! Money can buy food but cannot buy an appetite! Money can
buy medicine, but not health! Money can buy religion but cannot buy
salvation!  Money can buy sermons but cannot buy the Gospel! Money can buy
the Bible but cannot buy the blessings and the promises given in the Bible!
Money can buy knowledge but cannot buy wisdom! Money can buy talk but it
cannot buy time. People waste time, serve time, kill time! Kill time! It's
not murder, it's suicide! Yet salvation is found within the brackets of
time!

Revelation 10 speaks of a mighty angel standing with one foot on the earth
and the other foot on the sea, proclaiming with a powerful voice that time
is no more. It doesn't mean the end of the world nor of an age. It means
time and opportunity are past. It means it's too late to repent and believe
the Gospel.

Time for repentance is no more. Like clay in the Potter's Hands, can be
modeled, fashioned and shaped, but once in the furnace it can never be
changed. That's what Revelation 22:11 means: "He that is righteous let him
be righteous still, he that is defiled, let him be defiled still." It means:

They must remain forever as they are! When we die our spirits return to God
and whatever kind of a spirit we might have then, it will be the same for
all eternity!

No wonder it says in Ecclesiastes 9:10 "Whatsoever your hand findeth to do,
do it with all your might, for there is no work, nor device nor knowledge,
nor wisdom in the grave whither thou goest." Even this verse needs to be
tempered with the verse that follows. "The race is not to the swift." (It's
an obstacle race.) "The battle is not to the strong." (Think of wee David,
killing the mighty giant). "Neither yet bread to the wise." It's revelation,
not information. It's divine direction, not human skill.  The disciples
fished all night and caught nothing! Jesus said, "Cast your net on the right
side of the ship!" And they got a great haul of fish, that even the nets
began to break. They had to signal to others to come and help, they filled
both boats till they began to sink! "Nor riches to men of understanding."
Proverbs 13:7 "There is he that maketh himself rich and had nothing! There
is he that maketh himself poor and had great riches." Many hands make light
work.

I am writing letters; More than 64 years in the work, so don't expect much
of me! I asked Troy Craig, our elder brother, for a job. His answer: "We
want you to answer the dinner bell, write letters, and prepare for
meetings."  So, I'm getting to spend more time than usual studying the
Bible.  This is getting long, so must close.  Trust that these lines find
you well and encouraged. I will close with every Good Wish in Christ, Your
letters are appreciated!!

Dear Friends...,

Written after an observer attended the funeral of our friend, Denley Norman

This is an account written about one of the friends who was killed recently. The writer is not one of us, but is very respectful of our way of life & beliefs. The website of the wife of the man who was killed is very nice & you can see a photo of her as well as one of him on a horse near a river with the full reflection of the horse.
Anita Schwan
Dear friends,

I have a lot on my heart tonight and just wanted to share it with some of you who may get something from it.

We went to Lusk today for the funeral of Denley Norman, a young man of 44 who was killed when a horse flipped over backward and broke his neck on Wednesday afternoon. Leaves a wife and two little girls, maybe 8 and 10 or so. He was a great horseman, and had already worked on many of the major top ranches in the nation -- the Bell in NM; the Padlock in WY; Haythorn Ranch in NE; Buster Welch in TX; and most recently Pfister Ranches in WY and SD.

The horse had been acting up all morning as they worked cattle in the pens, and when they turned the cattle out and rode out to trail them to another pasture the horse suddenly threw a fit and fell over backward, landing on him and breaking his neck, causing instant death. I guess one of his close friends who was working with the guys went to his pickup and got his gun and killed the horse right then and there.

They are members of a "house church" group, and there was a huge, huge crowd for the funeral, nearly filled the high school auditorium. I was so impressed by the looks and attitude of most of the people . . . Those who were of the church, and they were from Idaho, all over New Mexico, Billings, Sheridan, and all over Nebraska. The women all had long hair done up stylish and attractive. They dressed modestly, quite fashionable, some sleeveless and short sleeved tops on the younger women, but nothing at all immodest. I complimented a lot of the young girls how beautiful they looked and what a statement they make of filling the role of helpmate to men rather than tools of Satan to tempt and to trap by dressing in the immodest styles of today. It was really refreshing to see such a huge group on a very hot day without inappropriate displays of skin!

I think we see the short shorts and barely tops so much we almost get numb to it and cease to be so horribly offended . . . But seeing this moderation so tastefully displayed in a big group really made the contrast stand out!

The message was shared by 3 young men who knew Denley well and all wept a little as they spoke. They gently, reverently (I felt in the way Jesus would've done it) reminded the big crowd that in addition to us being there for Denley, this day was for each of us not to push away the questions and feelings this incident brought to us, but to deal with them and let them bring us closer to Christ. The main one spoke of how a diamond is just a rock, until it is cut, how pain can be good for us as in the rock being cut to release the beauty, and then even after being cut the diamond has to be brought into the light" to display the beauty . . . Great analogies - he spoke from Isaiah and Ecclesiastes and Ephesians 5, etc.

As opposed to some funerals I've suffered through where they beat you over the head with "salvation" for a full hour (causing the un-churched to determine never to be churched) it was beautiful and refreshing, and you could feel the Holy Spirit so sweet in it. A group of 4 or 5 sang a couple beautiful acapello hymns; then there was a graveside hymn printed on the memorial card and the voices were so sweet and strong throughout the big crowd on that green hillside it seemed a touch of heaven.

We know some people who are in that house church group here, in fact their son was one of the singers; I had no idea it was so widespread and had such a following. I asked a man from NM what church it was, if it might be Mennonite, and he said, "We are non-denominational." It’s great to know Lisa has such a strong community of faith to lean on through this tough time

You can find her at www.imageswest.com to see what talent she has, and to have a face to pray for.

Just recently Frank Holmes, our partner in Loft Enterprises, the book publishing business, arranged with Lisa to use a photo of hers on the subscription website "Horses . . . Heroes . . . History" which we're about launch. It is of a cowboy on a horse which is drinking from a pond, and his entire reflection shows back from the water.

I knew nothing of this -- when I emailed Frank to tell him of the accident and see if he knew of Lisa (figured he would thru her great book on the Haythorn Ranch) he wrote back that he'd met her and Denley when he went to Haythorn's to do a story on the ranch many years ago, before she did her book.

Then he told me he had just arranged to use this photo and said, "Maybe it is even of Denley?" He sent me the rough draft of the web home page and I got chills . . . the symbolism of that reflection now that Denley is gone (yes, it's a photo she took of him) and feeling that God knew even before this happened that Lisa was going to need another source of income.

Frank hopes now he can do an article on her and her work on the website and offer her original art, books, prints, notecards, etc. through the website

-- God has pulled Christians together for our entire Loft group; people who never knew each other; His plans are so perfect and this is just such a picture of some of His provision for Lisa and her girls even before they knew they needed it . . . and His allowing us to be involved is so amazing.

When we walked into the school auditorium today for the service there was a 3' x 5' copy of that photo of Denley and his horse reflected in the pond.... talk about chills.... It’s like God was showing Lisa right then how Denley will always be with her, but from now until Heaven he’s just in the reflections….

Sorry I'm babbling so . . . it's just really exciting to see how God is preparing a people who are "in the world, but not of it"; and to be encouraged to be that kind of people all the time ourselves. The world is watching and needing to know the Good News before it's too late!!

Hope I didn't bore you with all this . . . it's a tragic truth of our ranching lifestyle that we face life and death situations every day in our work, and but for the grace of God, this funeral could've been any one of ours . . . and it seemed like the ranching community really turned out for this funeral in recognition of that.

Hope you all have a great Sunday, we love ya'!

Ride in the sunshine, Rhonda

The Faithful Few

After the usual greeting, every Sunday in his home
when the elder starts the meeting, in a small
or larger room, you are sure to see the faces,
of the Christians who are true, they are always in their places,
for they are the Faithful Few.
No matter if it's hot or cold, or if it's stormy weather,
Or whether they are young or old,
they're sure to meet together.
They know a world of sin and strife
is what they're passing through,
and need the fellowship through life, of those the
Faithful Few.
At the appointed time and place, they've come
to meet with God; they too like others run their race,
then sleep beneath the sod.
They're there on time, in tune,
in place, and all they say and do,
assures us by God's help and grace,
they are the Faithful Few.
They speak of Jesus' power to save, of those who've gone before,
And of the journey to the grave,
of life on the other shore.
They pray that others, whom they know,
could see the things they view,
And then with heart and soul would go,
with them the Faithful Few.
They meet, they speak, they pray, they sing,
they glory in Christ's name,
by breaking bread and taking wine,
His life and death proclaim.
Their hearts are fed from heaven above,
their strength again renewed,
through life they keep this trust of love,
they are the Faithful Few.
And when the meeting's over,
they are readyto go home,
for it's with a single motive
that together they have come.
They go with prayerful hearts and minds;
they purpose to be true,
so glad, so thankful and resigned,
to be the Faithful Few.
Will you while yet they live, just drift,
through life without a care,
be with them in the meeting,
if convenient to be there?
Or do you go elsewhere instead,
have something else to do,
Then miss all that the Lord has said,
through these the Faithful Few?
When they are dead and gone will you just
miss them from their place,
Forgetting what you ought to do,
and all their works of Grace?
Or will you fill the vacant place, with your feet in their shoes,
Appreciate God's love and grace, be of the Faithful Few?

Passing Time

Behold, the clock is striking one;
Perhaps my work is almost done,
And will it bear inspection too,
By Him with whom I have to do?

Hark, now the clock is striking two,
Time's moving fast for me and you.
Our golden moments, how they fly
And whisper, O! Prepare to die.

Time passes on, the clock strikes three;
May this a warning be to me
That worldly pleasures pass away
And soon will come the judgment day.

The hand moves on, the clock strikes four,
The hour that's past we'll see no more.
Teach us our days to number so
That we in wisdom's ways may go.

The clock strikes five; oh don't you see
Time does not wait for you or me,
But hurries on with rapid pace
And bears us to our destined place.

The clock strikes six, the sun is low,
His beauties soon no more will show
Until the dawn of a new day,
How swift the time doth pass away.

The clock strikes seven; the day is closed;
Now comes the hour of sweet repose.
Upon our pillow rests our head,
Which is the emblem of the dead.

We watch the hands move on to eight,
We pray our hearts will hold no hate.
Believing in His love and grace,
We long with love to see His face.

Although we rest on bed of down,
The wheels of time still roll around.
The clock strikes nine; O! Turn your eye
And see how swift the moments fly.

Rest on, and take refreshment then,
For lo, the clock is striking ten,
And as it strikes, its tones express
You have on earth one hour or less.

Alarming though, is it eleven,
And is my soul prepared for Heaven?
The midnight hour will soon be here;
Who first will at its bar appear?

How soon twelve hours have passed away!
How swift the time, how short the stay
Of mortal man beneath the sun;
How soon our work on earth is done!

Another Gem

Neh. 5:1 A great cry arose over the matter of the Israelites being made bondmen of their brethren. Their cry reached Nehemiah who asked, Will ye even sell your brethren? Or shall they be sold unto us? They all had been servants in Babylon and now for them to exact upon their brethren the same thing was tragic. Joseph’s brethren sold him into slavery, Gen 37:28. It was cruelty. Later they were remembering their sin against Joseph, Gen 42:21, “we saw the anguish of his soul, when he besought us and we would not hear.” Again their guilt made them wonder, upon the death of Jacob, their father, if Joseph would exact vengeance upon them, Gen. 50:17 Joseph answered them, Fear not: for am I in the place of God? He had forgiven them. True fasting is to undo the knots that bind others. It’s not easy to do it. God heals our wounds. Joseph named one of his sons, Manasseh, which means forgetting. He made me forget all my toil, and all my father’s house. Jo. 16 Jesus foretold his disciples sorrow turned to joy, and likened it unto when a woman travails in birth she is in anguish, but afterwards no more remembers the anguish for joy of the child’s birth. If we do not undo the knots, then we’ll suffer as it says in Neh 5:13, God shake out every man from his house, and from his labour, that performeth not this promise, even thus be he shaken out, and emptied. When the older brother of the prodigal wouldn’t receive back his brother, he was without the house, angry and empty. Within the house was joy and fellowship with the father. Jesus was taken and bound unto the High Priest. He was further nailed to the cross. He was wounded for our sins and through him God made us to be delivered. Who am I to bind others whom Christ has loosed?

Touch My Life

Touch my life with tenderness
And fill my cup with love.
Share my dreams as I share yours
Beyond the stars above.

Take my hand as I grow old
And lead me when I'm blind.
Show me that you really care…
Good Friends are hard to find.

Touch my heart and I'll touch yours
A little more each day
And then we'll both find happiness
Somewhere along the way.
