2014, Chapter 14, Verse 14,

Anno Domini twenty fourteen,
Another year, same routine?
No, rather, on Him we’ll lean,
Living in Christ, self to wean.

Matthew; fourteen, fourteen,
Compassion in His heart; felt, seen,
Helpless to hopeful, He stood between,
To intercede, to intervene.

Mark; fourteen, fourteen,
A home open, where to convene,
In the midst, the sacrifice clean,
Master seen become servant unseen.

Luke; fourteen, fourteen,
Toward less fortunate, care keen,
Every kindness, though small, mean,
In heaven goes not unseen.

John; fourteen, fourteen,
Ask, beg, pray, intervene,
Plead for those deep in the ravine,
How many times? Umpteen.

Genesis; fourteen, fourteen,
Abraham´s compassion seen,
Captive Lot, from the world to wean,
United in faith, besides by gene.

Exodus; fourteen, fourteen,
Allow God the battle convene,
Stand still, hold peace, in fearful scene,
Victory foreseen.

Second Samuel; fourteen, fourteen,
Banished, he who as a teen did preen,
Expelled for connivings he did machine,
Yet compassion, forgiveness still seen.

Job; fourteen, fourteen,
Beyond death need not be unforeseen,
The resurrection in between,
To live again, in purity, clean.

Ezekiel; fourteen, fourteen,
Noah, Daniel, Job; with faith unseen,
Await the eternal judgment scene,
Where the Lamb will intervene.
