Things That Hinder

In our service to God as we journey there are hindrances at times in the way. When we are not able, God is able to help us. Some hindrance we can overcome. I’m thankful about some who gave their testimonies and didn’t allow obstacles to hinder them from coming to convention. In our studies in Exodus, Israel was hindered from serving the living God. First, there’s the obstacle of being under bondage. God saw this and took it from them. Another obstacle was Pharaoh. The Egyptian king wants to be served and doesn’t want the Israelites to serve God. Before the gospel came there were obstacles and God took them away. After leaving Egypt, there were enemies.
Numbers 13-14. They spied the land and saw giants. These are obstacles. The Promised Land is the way that we are walking now but there are giants ahead of us. There was negative news and some good news. Joshua and Caleb saw the good side. Their trust was on God. Num. 13-14. They died in the way. They were not able to enter in. It was the giant of unbelief; murmuring giants hindered them from going in; God can help us conquer the giants. A professing friend was happy serving God but there was one thing hindering him and later on he left the faith. Just a little thing but like a giant that hindered him from entering into the Promised Land.
Mark 16:2-3, very early on the first day of the week, the women were asking one another. Their thoughts were about Jesus. A big stone hindered them. In spite of this, they continued with their purpose to see Jesus. When they arrived, the stone was already taken out. All they did was to continue; just go on in spite of obstacles and God can take care of our obstacles for us. We can’t get help if we doubt. We trust in God and He will help us.
John 11: 38, Lazarus being dead. Jesus asked them to take out the stone. If we don’t take out the stone it will hinder God’s work. We have some responsibility to do. If we do our part, then God will do His part. Take out the stone. Think of stones in our hearts. What are these that hinder us? We can take them out before God will do His part. In my experience after our Special Meetings, there was a hindrance but thankful for my fellow servants' love and God was able to take out the stone that hindered me so He can continue the work He has begun in my life.
